Lauren Makowski is Network Protection Manager for Thames Water. Lauren and her team actively engage with, and educate stakeholders on appropriate discharges to Thames Water’s 108,000km sewer network.

In the last year, Lauren’s team has tripled in size and now builds and maintains lasting relationships with over 5,000 commercial customers per year.
Through this work she has proven that, when provided with information and support, customers will manage their discharges of matter such as FOG effectively.

Lauren uses data and insight to ensure her work is targeted towards high risk customers and so delivers sustained network performance. Her innovative methods have transformed Thames Water’s approach to sewer misuse delivering benefit to both customers and the environment.
